What ages/sizes are most needed? Also, I'm aiming for wool (it's Buffalo, for crying out loud!) but let me/us know ASAP if they need to be machine washable. . .

Suggestion: why don't you post a message to Yahoo's Knitlist about your need? I think you'll get a tremendous response from the excellent knitting community there. I am in also. I live in New Brunswick, Canada so will try and get as many mittens done as possible. I know what the cold, snowy winters are like.
