Can we all say, "Awwwwwww..."

Don't you love a picnic? The Special Swap theme this go round was Picnic. A new Swapper, Meg, and I did a personal picnic swap... and she sent a lovely Fall picnic getaway package.

100_7148 Filled with picnic snacks and other necessities, it also included the Fall Issue of Hallmark magazine, which I of course, devoured cover to cover. Especially lovely was the Briar Rose yarn and fingerless glove pattern.

100_7149 Thank you Meg!  It has been a joy to correspond with you, and hear all about the adoption of your brand new baby boy! He just arrived last week, so Meg has been a busy girl, no doubt!

That said, there will be picnic packages arriving all this week, so watch for a Special Swap Picnic update in the days ahead!  It's been a great and challenging theme. I can't wait to see all of those Picinic Baskets, Boo-boo!

To go along with that sweet little MDK kimono, I fashioned a wee little hat, and added a bunch of ribbons a-la Itty BItty Hats...

100_7155  Then wrapped it up with the kimono and put it in a Chinese take-out container!

Little Amelia Rose will get her sweater and hat tomorrow!

With the two gifts completed this week, I am in  New Project Mode....a lot on my mind, and some projects that I MUST do....stay tuned, knitters!

I love the hat and sweater!! I have a 10 month old baby myself but have yet to knit anything for her :(! I just have not had much knitting getting done since she's been born. But I am getting the baby knitting itch BIG time seeing so many cutie things on blogs-and yours is truly my favorite MDK kimono I've seen yet-I love that purple and the ribbons!!

That is the cutest hat I've ever seen!!! Lucky baby! Jane

Beautiful swap and I LOVE the little hat! What a cute idea to put it in a Chinese food container :-)

AAAAAAAAAA Amelia is going to love it! Jennifer will too :) Are you sure she doesn't read your blog? I wont tell :)

Great yarn in the swap!

Another superbly run swap, Lynne You are the best

ooohhh - great swap! that yarn is very pretty.

your baby hat and sweater are so adorable!!!

Love love love the sweet baby gift. I have gifted a baby hat in a take out box before, too, and it's such a fun presentation.

What a great way to package the kimono and hat! I may need to steal that idea... :)

Now that my swap is sent I m finding everything picnic around me. FIgures. Saw some hot dog salt and pepper shakers. Some wonderful watermelon soap. UGH.

Lucky you - what a great package!

Since you received a fingerless mitt pattern and yarn this does mean you're going to join my fingerless mitts for fall knitalong, right??? ;)
