From time to time, there is a project that must be knitted. Now.  Maybe because today felt like autumn.

100_7216  And I happened to have

the right yarn for a fall sweater.

From Drops,  This Asymmetrical Jacket.

After doing some browsing around on Ravelry, I came across this FREE pattern, and since I had some Debbie Bliss Merino Chunky in my stash, I cast on this morning, and knit in front of our first official fire in our fireplace in our new home. I knit until I was  knitting with my eyes closed.

Good night.

Very cute! I can't wait to see the finished jacket.

You really had to go and post that "free" Drops pattern, didn't you, Lynne!!! ;) I love that pattern and I can see why you cast on for it immediately. I'll have to go over to Ravelry and check it out. Here I was going through all my UFO's and trying to catch up. Oh my! Guess some more things will be put on the back burner. (This weekend I have been making progress on finishing up on my Mission Falls Siobhan jacket that I started last fall).

Sounds like a wonderful night! I have seen this sweater popping up everywhere lately. It is really growing on me. Can't wait to see your version :O)

what a perfect evening it sounds like you had. and a chocolate brown version of that sweater would be lovely!

Isn't it great when you already have the yarn for a new project?

Congratulations on your first official fire in your fireplace! That really does mark the beginning of fall, but what a wonderful way to mark it!

Wasn't the weather this weekend gorgeous? It's got my thinking about my winter sweater too!

oops my = me

Wow, it was cool enough for a fire? Here it was cool enough to finally sit out on the deck. :)

Your project is going to be great!

How cozy, to have a fire! Jacob asked us to have one in the fireplace the other night, but it wasn't even cool out yet! This weekend the weather turned cooler, and it feels glorious after that bout of 100's!

I love knitting until my eyes start to close!

(I changed my name on typepad to simplehappy, if you happen to see it pop up in bloglines, its me!)

Awww cold enough to light a fire...I'm SOO jealous!!:(

I saw that same sweater on Ravelry last week!! But I liked the modified version that FlintKnits made here: http://flintknits.blogspot.com/2007/09/drops-cardigan-done-and-dry.html

I love that sweater! I noticed it on Ravelry last week and I've been thinking of it ever since. Hmmm...I think I have Malabrigo in my stash that would work for that.

Wow. You will look great in that sweater. Did I tell you how good you looked with your tortilla chip eyes? Really, that is a beautiful pattern.

That sweater is on my must knit list. It's going to look great in that warm brown. I can't wait to see it finished!

Have you seen flintknits Pam's FO of that jacket? It's to die for - excellent choice for a new project. Can't wait to see your excellent version of it too!

I love the jacket. I am also on my way to Ravelry to check out the pattern. Like I need another project OTN! I can't wait to see your finished version. It will be gorgeous in that dark brown.

I'm very envious of you having cool enough weather to enjoy a fire! Without giving too much away, let me just say that I won't be building a fire any time soon. Enjoy it for me, too, okay!?

Your K1T2 SP

I've got that sweater in my queue too! (hee!) And the same color yarn as well. It looks like so much fun!

Very pretty and in one of my favorite colors!!

Beware the Garnstudio! I strolled over there looking for a pattern for my new yarn and instead found another pattern I Have To Make. Of course it is in another gauge entirely which requires the buying of my yarn!
I will say my last Garnstudio pattern was a good fit.
Have fun with yours.
