Finished...
Vintage Gloves, from Handknit Holidays.
Knit with Blue Sky Alpaca and Silk.
Pattern modified to include a thumb gusset.
Of course,
I couldn't resist the beading.
Took them from just plain gloves to
Fabulous Gloves.
For the past several days, I've been having some nagging, vague headaches daily. JR mentioned that he had been having them as well. On Sunday, as we were talking...about the fact that we each had a slight headache...again... he finally fessed up. In in attempt to reduce our caffeine intake, the last time JR bought coffee beans, he mixed de-caf and regular beans!
Isn't that precious of him?

Oh, JR, you had good intentions; but, if Lynne is like me-----"Don't mess with my coffee!!!!" ;)
Lynne, the gloves are beautiful. I've only made mittens (only because of your worthy cause last year) and have wanted to make some. They will be on my list of "To Do's". (Have to finish that Drops jacket first---)

Very pretty gloves! And you're right, the beading really adds some pizazz. They're just lovely.
You're probably through the worst of the withdrawal now, might as well stick with it. Or not. :)

The gloves are BEAUTIFUL! The beading truly does make them fabulous. I've done the caffeine thing to my husband - he usually does 50-50, but for some reason, I thought he had finally moved to 100% decaf. My bad. Poor guy had a headache all day. The question is, will you fight through the headaches and stay 50-50, or go back to fully caffeine?

JR is on the right track re caffeine. That's how I weaned myself off it. I mixed greater proportions of decaf to regular coffee until I was 100% decaf. The headaches will go away if they haven't already. Beautiful gloves!

Love those gloves. And I hope you gave JR a good smack upside the head.

Those gloves are beautiful! I saw them but have never made them. although I've been intrigued by them.
I'll send you an email under separate cover. I'll definitely pay it forward.
That's good to wean yourself off of caffeine. I've tried it before but haven't been successful in staying off caffeine, but I decided my one cup a day wasn't worth my effort

Your gloves are beautiful! And I'm glad it's just the caffeine. I was thinking you had a carbon monoxide problem! :)

Look at those gloves. OH my. Ms. RED lover, the color is perfect. Beadwork is definitely the finishing touch.
As for the Caffeine Caper , I'd kiss him. At least it wasn't a brain tumor!!!! Phew, just some caffeine defecit! So funny.

Oh, I'm glad it's just caffeine deprivation and not something else! (I have an unreasonable fear of carbon monoxide poisoning.) Love the gloves. The beading is genius! And, I'll send you my address! I'd love to pay it forward!

very pretty. :) how was it adding the beads? I have 2 skeins for that project somewhere!

Your gloves are so pretty -- they look vintage! I can picture Sonja Henie wearing them in her movies.
I didn't realize that you can get headaches from just a little switch in caffeine intake. That is helpful to know!

The beading is perfect- nice work, Lynne!
And how cute is JR? Seriously.
