Who needs to knit?

When you can spend two entire  evenings on the phone  with computer tech people?   I'm so relaxed I'm about to fall asleep!

To keep a long story short, let's just say I had issues with

1. with setting up my new email with the local server. I'm glad Edwin, at Roadrunner, has a sense of humor.

2. my brand new computer. I'm glad Sarisha, at Dell, has a sense of humor.

Anyway, on this, the day of my 500th post, I want to inform you that I have a new email address. Which means, I have to set up a new address book. Years of contacts...gone. If you were in my inbox, waiting for a response to an email, well, I won't be responding to that email. Your email is gone.

So, here's what I'd like to do. I need to get my contacts back. I need some new email messages in my inbox!

Awhile back, Angela, at Fluid Pudding, selected me to "Pay it Forward." This means, Angela will, at some point in the not-so-distant-future, send me a little something to brighten my day.  As a mere token of my appreciation, but more so to pass on the "Pay it Forward" blessing, I need to select three people to send a little something to. Then, if you are chosen, you do the same thing! Get it?

All I need you to do is leave me a comment, or email me, and tell me you want to Pay it Forward, too. I'll select some of you, and sometime, in the not-so-distant future, I send a little blessing your way.

Then, I get some contacts back, and I get to share the knitting love. 3caqeevntcakogeficad2n7hncabooufy_4

A few days ago, I was ready to cast on for Katharine Hepburn. But first, I wanted to make something to include in my knitter's tea swap package. The Mason Dixon Washcloth. Should be a piece of cake.

I threw it across the room . Really. It took me an entire day of wrestling with that stupid thing to finally get it right! We fought, we slapped each other, we gave each other the silent treatment. AND I declare victory!!!

After all of that, the last thing I needed to do was read a chart and count stitches. So Katharine Hepburn makes her debut tonight, instead.  And she better be good. Or else.

When did I start this sweater? 9/15/2007. Completed in 14 days.  A Satisfaction Knit...when you have to knit something now and fast.

The Drops Asymmetric Jacket.

I chose a yarn that I had in my stash, which was Debbie Bliss Merino Chunky. Because of the smaller guage, I decided to work it on #10 1/2 needles, knitting the X-L size.  I was so winging it, and guessing fit on this one. I knew I needed the extra size through the bustline and shoulders,  and since it was a tent shape, it didn't really matter how "below the bustline" fit. It was a good call.

The other modification I made is the front closure. Again, because of my "ahem" more generous shaping,  I felt that a center button, with more of a V-shaping was in order,  put more "symmetric" in the "Asymmetric" but gave a more flattering fit suitable for my body shape.

I love the shorter sleeve. It has a current, modern look (which is actually an older, vintage look). The detailing of the moss stitch made this sweater not only more interesting to knit, but certainly more interesting to look at.
