After a week of being behind closed doors, and without a husband, it was especially good to have JR come home last night. He got stuck in Detroit because of the storms, and thought he'd be stuck there until tonight at 10pm! Favor was upon him, though, and he was the last person called for a standby flight. Today, he shoveled out the deck and driveway, and then we went for a ride. It was so funny to me to be outside! I kept looking out the car windows, noticing things like, "aren't birch trees so pretty?" and "oh, the long grasses look so cool coming out of the snow on the canal bank," and "look at how the snow sparkles!" Everything is better when my husband is home.
Progress on the DB Diagonal Front Jacket?
This is why we don't knit patterns with lots of counting while taking Vicodin. I found my mistake, considered how to fix it, realized I couldn't, just because of how the jacket is constructed, decided I couldn't live with the mistake, and then started knitting my May Day Socks instead.
I cast on and I am knitting this sock Magic Loop style, which I've never done. It's going well, thanks to this tutorial.
And tomorrow is another day.

I'd be thrilled to be laid up alone for a week, but I don't know if I want to go through the surgery prerequisite!

I'm glad you were able to get out some. And I'm glad that JR got home. So many people's flights have been cancelled due to all the snow.

I think the quote of my week is "This is why we don't knit...while taking Vicodin." Good advice!
I'm sure it's great to have your hubby home to take care of you!

Glad you are doing well.
Next you will need to try two socks at once on the magic loop.
I have your Mom and Sister and your Cousin doing that.

So glad JR is home and can tend to your every need. Yes, knitting on Vicodin is NOT recommended! I'm not even sure I could manage plain stockinette while on it. Get well and up on your feet soon.

I'm glad JR is home, safe and sound. Too bad about the DB sweater, but perhaps even though you were knitting while on Vicodin, it's the process (as Margene always says) and perhaps just the act of knitting was soothing to you while your movement is limited.

Yay! Glad you're able to get out of the house! I hope you heal quickly.
