April 12, 2008

The last few days, we have been doing and going...trying to catch up on errands and tie up loose ends.

I got my new glasses and contacs. Img_0366_2  We took Moses for his nail clipping (which is an adventure in itself, but bless his heart, our good old country vet does the job in minutes and only charges us $5!).

Img_0385    We've made a few visits to friends and JR has been busy cleaning up our yard, Img_0363_2 and doing man chores.Img_0362_2    We are delighted to see that we have birds at the feeders and some chickadees and morning doves that are nesting at our new house!

Spring brings with it such a fresh sense of renewal, doesn't it?

Our rehearsals for Rise Up are now twice a week, and I want to tell you, they are exhausting! Preparing a 350 person choir for a recording event takes much work and commitment, but I count it a privilege to participate.  I do need a black dress for the event, so we've been shopping around for the perfect dress. Finding a black dress? Not as easy as you would think, right? I finally settled on a skirt and short sweater...sort of a vintagey, fifties look. And, I'll probably change my mind about ten times in the next two weeks. That's just the way it goes.

Yesterday, you may have noticed that I shared some information about my husband and a current situation that we are dealing with. What happened was a flukey thing. I very often keep several drafts in Typepad to edit and post as I feel the need, and yesterday's post was no exception. As I was working on it, I began to have a few computer issues and to make a long story short, my draft was saved as a published post. Then we lost our internet connection. Please know how much I appreciate your concern.  I hate the gossip thing, and it's so good to know that you have been willing to email me  directly or to leave a comment sharing your support and encouragement. I know that many people read this blog, and JR and I are always thankful that God gives us an opportunity to share some of our story, not as an avenue to have people peer into our lives, but to let you know how thankful we are for the blessings and challanges that we face in our lives. As we are able, and as much as it will give glory to God, we will share and update our current situation.

I like your new glasses, Lynne! Thanks for sharing all of your pictures. They're great!

Just wanted to wish you all the best for the coming time - will be thinking of you. My mum's been through it recently and is making a great recovery, thank goodness. I found writing about it very cathartic.

We are all behind you Lynne and JR! If there is anything you need, you know you can count on the knitters!

Nice glasses Lynne!! Tell JR that I said hello and give Moses a pat on the head for me!

I love that the birds are singing in your trees! It is a very good thing!

What a lovely well written post. I love the JR under the car image. THe whole pictorial is lovely. WHo is that in those foster grants?

My Calif blog friend has a dove family too:

I think I missed something. Whatever the challenge, you seem to have the faith and stamina to get through difficult times. Remember to take care of yourself, too.

Thinking of you and your family and sending good thoughts your way.

Love the new glasses!

Love the new glasses and the photos---especially the one of JR under the car. You have gone through and made your way through some pretty tough times and situations in the past, Lynne. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

You will both be in my thoughts and prayers. I have heard stories of several acquaintances who are doing very well, and I know your family will be victorious too.

Love the new glasses and Moses' nails look so nice!

I did not read your post, so I am not sure what you are dealing with....but you always have my thoughts and prayers!

Very hip glasses grrl!

I love the new specs....very cool! And I am very jealous of the spring flowers!!

love those glasses Lynne!!

I did catch your post on bloglines just now. Then I went to find it, and it was gone. You know I will keep you in my prayers.

Lynne, please know that you and JR are in my prayers. I'm sure this is a trying time, but one that you will both emerge victorious.

Take good care of yourself, ok? The new glasses are awfully sassy!
