Sofia had her first birthday party yesterday.
Not a happy girl....wait til you turn fifty-one, Sof!
She got to wear her birthday dress (Simplicity 5695), and I continued getting a little obsessive-compulsive sewing pajamas for her...mostly made from stuff I had in the house already.
Flannel pj bottoms and a store bought tee appliqued by me ( heavily inspired by a pair of pajamas at Baby Gap).
Simplicity 2826, with some sleeve modification ( I made a little cap sleeve over the contrast rib long sleeve). The fabric is some leftovers from my stash...a really cute cotton knit by Fresh Produce that I scored onEbay.
Legging bottoms (drew up my own pattern), made from leftover stash cotton lycra, and a store bought tee which I appliqued.
Simplicity 8493, made with cotton knit from Joann's.
I had to stop myself...how many pairs of pj's can one 1-year-old wear? But, oh, what fun...it's the first time I've ever appliqued using my machine.
Custom PJ's anyone?
Oh, those PJs are all adorable! Happy birthday, Sofia!

Sofia is a cutie, even when she is 'crabby'!!
Love the PJs, it must be so fun to be a Grandma and sew baby things :-)

Happy Birthday Sofia! Darling PJ's, Mimi!! I always make the bottoms and buy ready-made tees (Target, Baby Gap, Children's Place, etc.) for applique. Sewing for grandbabies is so much fun!!!

Welcome back! Missed your blogs, please don't give up. So glad you were able to retrieve your past entries. Love the cute pjs and I also enjoy making them for my grand daughter. Gives us the chance to be creative in a fun sort of way.

Happy birthday to Sofia! Those pajamas look like regular outfits to me! My grandma used to make pajamas and nightgowns for me and I really remember them. I kept the last one she made me even when I didn't wear it anymore. Grandmas are great!

Sofia is so adorable. I think first birthdays are hard on the little ones! They are too young to understand the concept of presents, cake, and too much attention. That will all change soon enough!!!!
The PJs are so cute. Remember, a girl can never have too many clothes (including jammies) or shoes!!!

Is there nothing you can't do with great results? Lynne, you are a marvel seamstress! Even though Sofia does not look it, I am sure she loves Grandma's handmade outfits (I mean that one little pouty photo~she's quite cute. That cake pic is a keeper!).
